I've been a full-time writer since 1998. Before that I used to edit magazines, including Metro and the New Zealand Listener. For the past few years a lot of my work has been about books. I've written some - including Arrested Development: the Aaron Cohen Story and After Everest: Inside the Private world of Edmund Hillary - and ghost-written several, including Sir Ray Avery: Rebel with a Cause, Willia Apiata VC: Reluctant Hero and Paul Henry: What Was I Thinking. I've helped my wife, Wendyl Nissen, produce her last two books, which we published together. I talk about books on NewstalkZb every Saturday morning with Jack Tame, and I review New Zealand books every month in North and South magazine.
