This lovely book celebrates the heritage of Branchline Britain. It explores surviving lines, and lines no longer in use, visits preserved lines and travels on those lines long forgotten. It is both a practical guide and a look back at the lost golden age of steam.

Author description

Paul Atterbury is a life-long railway enthusiast and has written several books exploring Britain's railway heritage. He is especially interested in the way that rural life depended on the railways until the mid 20th Century. He has been a presenter of the Antiques Roadshow on TV for many years. Paul lives in a converted railway carriage near Bridport, Dorset.
