Author description

Tony has written a series of successful Raps books for Orchard and has won the Smarties Silver Award 2000 for another of his titles The Red and White Spotted Handkerchief (Scholastic) Tony spent his childhood in Africa, Germany and Hong Kong. He gained an MA in English at Cambridge University. Tony gives performances to local primary schools and children's libraries as a children's poet, and has a lot of experience in giving lectures and training sessions for teachers, parents and students on a variety of subjects. Guy Parker Rees was born in Zimbabwe and came to England as a child. Since 1989 he has worked as a freelance illustrator, working mainly on children's books. For Orchard, Guy has illustrated Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae and Big Bad Bunny by Alan Durant. Guy lives in North London.
