Description

Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll have never been captured as brilliantly as in this iconic classic of music writing, described by Rolling Stone as 'the best rock 'n' roll biography ever written.'"Nick Tosches' extravagant and evocative biography is a superbly told story that makes sense of the wildest, most messed-up survivor in the history of rock 'n' roll. They don't make them like that any more. And perhaps for that very reason they don't write them like that any more. A killer of a book" - Sean O' Hagan, "Observer Music Monthly".

Reviews

'The best rock 'n' roll biography ever written... There is a novelistic intensity to this story of tragedy, triumph and love. Its portrayal of a society alien to mainstream America is riveting' Newsday Brilliant... the best account we have of how the first rock and rollers were torn between salvation and the Devil's music New Statesman
