Author description
Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936), poet, short-story writer, journalist, was born in India. In 1907 he became the first English writer to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. Among his classic works are the poem "If" and "The Jungle Book". He is buried in Poets' Corner in Westminster Abbey.
