Open 7 Days is a celebration of New Zealand’s general stores and neighbourhood dairies.
Don Donovan travelled the whole of New Zealand in 1990 to put together this collection of stores, and found that many had closed in recent years.
The survivors presented here were chosen for their visual appeal, but with consideration also given to history,’character’, and location. The final selection comprises an intriguing portfolio of 37 watercolour illustrations representing a cross-section of NZ’s general stores, each accompanied by a brief descriptive text
